Happy Earth Day!
On this Earth Day we celebrate forests through storytelling.
From 21st February, International Mother Language Day, to 21st March, the International Day of Forests and the Day for the elimination of racial discrimination, the Rutu Foundation collected stories about the forest from near and far. Children, teachers, parents and others shared their 50+ creative stories in 25 languages. Read more about the campaign here.
The Multilingual Intercultural Forest Story
The language friendly toolkit is full of forest stories for teachers and parents to help children share their thoughts and reflect on forests and nature through storytelling.
- 25 stories for children

Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped children explore what nature means to them. We hope this booklet supports meaningful learning and shows how forests matter across many different cultures and ways of seeing the world.
