The Indigenous-Led Education Network
Indigenous knowledge systems, languages, cultures, and institutions have sustained communities and ecosystems for generations. They carry deep knowledge about forests, biodiversity, food systems, health, governance, and ways of living that strengthen both people and nature.
Today, these knowledge systems face growing pressures from environmental degradation, land dispossession, climate change, mainstream education systems, and the erosion of Indigenous languages and cultural practices. As knowledge transmission weakens, communities risk losing not only cultural heritage but also vital foundations for resilience, self-determination, and sustainable futures.
The Indigenous-Led Education (ILED) Network brings together Indigenous organizations and support partners across Africa, Asia, and Latin America to strengthen the intergenerational transmission of Indigenous knowledge, language, culture, and institutions.
Through Indigenous-led education, communities are empowering youth, supporting women’s leadership, strengthening cultural identity, and building resilient futures rooted in their own values, territories, and aspirations.
Passing on knowledge. Strengthening communities. Shaping resilient futures.
